TERMESSOS: The ancient city knew a good beach when they saw one, but they also had a taste for inland vistas, and the plateats behind Antalya (known as a Roman Psidia) is as sudded with the remains of old poleis as the shores of the mediterranean. The defences of this Psidian city so daunded Alexander the Great when he came conqyering in 333 B.C. that he passed Termessos. The origion of this city is uncertain, but the the founders, who called themselves the Solymians are sdentified with the Psidien who occupied the Lake District furter north. Termessos (Gulluk Mountain) is also a national park. The ancient city of Termessos is set on a 1050 meters high plateau on the west side of Gulluk Mountain.
